Glaciers are a fascination in themselves and often conceal special secrets that are there to be explored as part of your holiday in the 5 star Superior STOCK resort . The Nature Ice Palace on Hintertux Glacier, 30 metres below the ski pistes, invites you to enjoy an impressive exploratory tour. Walk through the ice crevice – just three to four minutes walk from the mountain station for the Gletscherbahn – and you enter a sparkling world of ice, summer and winter alike. Frozen waterfalls, stalactites and a glacier lake make it into a magical place.
Extended basic tour in the eternal ice
For an additional fee, book a VIP tour with boat trip to the subterranean glacier lake, or take yourself to your own personal limits while stand-up paddling or even ice swimming. In any case, a leap into the ice cold water (fee payable for this too) is an extreme experience that you will remember for a long time to come.

- Meeting point: Nature Ice Palace container at the mountain station for Gletscherbus 3 – Gefrorene Wand. Redeem your panorama ticket ‘Faszination Eis’ at the pay station and allow around 30 minutes for the gondola ride from the valley up to the start point for the guided tour.

Spannagel cave natural monument

The Spannagel cave, which is around 13 kilometres in length, at the glacier in Zillertal, is one of the biggest rock caves and the only marble cave in the Central Alps. You can walk around 500 metres into the depths of exhibition Spannagel cave during a guided tour. The entrance to the Spannagel cave at the Zillertal Glacier is directly beneath the Spannagelhaus and is also the uppermost point of the cave system. You can learn lots of interesting information about the history of this place and the cave climate, marvel at the marble layering, crystals, bone finds and much more.
Well-equipped and into adventure
Expect to encounter snow year-round on the Hintertux Glacier, and with that in mind, winter-proof clothing and shoes are required for the descent to the Spannagelhaus. All tours start at the entrance to the exhibition cave right at Spannagelhaus.
