Into holiday fun on the via ferratas in Tyrol

An adventure, grip by grip

#abovethedailygrind

Climbing is much more than just sport, it really is an adventure. Grip by grip you get closer to your destination during a climbing holiday in Austria: a dreamy panorama and spectacular climbing routes, five unique climbing crags, which are located in Aschau, and open in winter too are the indoor climbing and bouldering hall, an outdoor climb tower and a nature spectacle that is unparalleled. The via ferratas in Mayrhofen, Fügen, Gerlos, Hainzenberg and Ginzling in particular are there waiting for you to explore during your climbing holiday in Austria. The Schlegeis 131 via ferrata is also a highlight, where you get to climb up the Schlegeis dam wall.

Huterlaner via ferrata

An impressive set-up that has already paved the way into climbing passion for so many mountain enthusiasts. With a route time of around one hour, it is ideal for a beginner's climbing holiday in Austria, but also attracts those at an advanced level. The altitude difference is 210 metres, while the difficulty level is rated B/C. This means that a head for heights and surefootedness are required. On the via ferrata route short, flat hiking paths alternate with steep ascents. The climbing equipment needed can be hired in situ

Climbing with children in Tyrol

During a climbing holiday in Austria children want to climb just like the grown-ups too! For that reason, the holiday region of Mayrhofen-Hippach now has Tyrol’s first bespoke children's via ferrata route with countless attractions aimed at children from the age of six to 14. In its construction, attention has been paid to little hands and feet and the rules of climbing explained in a manner that is suitable for children, using easily understandable terms. Parallel to the children's via ferrata there is also a high ropes course – at each section there is the opportunity to switch from the via ferrata to the high ropes course, then back to the via ferrata again. Really cool!

Climbing scene pros also feel great thanks to the Kilter Boards in the climbing centre at Aufenfeld leisure park. For children's climbing sessions in Zillertal, there is even a children's section in a separate area.
